...
The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum began working with the local African American community in March 2006 to create a local exhibit about the history of Hannibal's vibrant African American community. With a generous grant from the Missouri Humanities Council, the Museum was able to put the exhibit on permanent panels that can travel. The traveling exhibit has already been requested by Hannibal-LaGrance College and a museum in Bowling Green, MO.
The following pictures are from the opening reception and the exhibit itself. Local news media came, as well as many of the people that worked to create the exhibit. The exhibit is a companion to "Between Fences."
